Manotick Village Butcher

It's been a while

I can't believe that we're now into Summer and looking back it has been a busy period. There has been a lot happening and it's certainly time to get back to some regular updates.

Some saddening news

There never seems to be a good time to announce sad news so, this might be the right time.

It is with great sadness that we have to announce that two of our suppliers have ceased trading. Firstly, Peasants Craft, the farm who produced the wonderful pastured Berkshire pork have decided to close down the commercial side of their farm. This is something that we have only recently become aware of, but, none the less it is very sad to hear of this news and we will be mourning the loss of this wonderful pork from the Ottawa area.

Secondly, after 6 years of producing some of the best goat Chevre and Feta; Clarmell Farm have sold their goat herd and are no longer making cheese. This in another huge loss for the area as the cheese was certainly one of (if not THE) best Chevre in the area.

Needless to say we are very saddened by the loss to not only our store but to the Ottawa area as a whole of these great local products.
