Vol.5 – September 29th 2010

Manotick Village Butcher

As promised, we are now well on our way to providing our prepared meals. Our kitchen looks to be up and running this week. Claudia and I are developing a list of meals we would like to provide, such as chicken potpies, pasties, stocks and soups, stews, and much more. Of course, all of our meals will feature our local meats, and to our best ability, local produce as well.

If you are looking for something special, have suggestions, or dietary restrictions that often make prepared meals difficult to find, let us know and we will do our best to meet your needs.

What do you think we should be making?

Sausages Simply Sausages

We make a wide range of delicious sausages fresh in store, our standard varieties include: Moroccan, Breakfast, Hot Italian, Sage & Pork, English Bangers, Merguez, Boerewors, Italian Beef & Garlic & Italian.

But we also like to experiment with flavors like our rather special Ostrich and the delicious Honey Garlic!

We do have them frozen as well as fresh, so if you don’t see what you are looking for in the display please ask, and if there is a type of sausage you would like to see just let us know.

Let's Talk Turkey

Have you ordered your holiday turkey yet? If not, we recommend doing it sooner rather than later. You might want to reserve a jar of Major Craig’s Cranberry chutney to go with it.

Chutney is more than just an accompaniment, we also like to use it as an ingredient, so keep an eye out for our ‘Holiday Special’ turkey and cranberry sausages!
