The Manotick Village Butcher Team

James, Co-owner
James got fed-up with high tech and decided to follow his passion for good food and the local economy. He's starting by opening the Manotick Village Butcher and studying at Le Cordon Bleu. He looks forward to providing truly excellent quality meat and prepared foods for your table with the help of the rest of the team.

Elizabeth, Co-owner
Elizabeth spends a lot of time supporting James in this endeavour. She takes care of the background office tasks and research with a little (okay a lot) of help from her friends. She has a passion for local and home produced food, she's an enthusiastic gardener, a bread baker and preserve maker. You may see her in the shop on occasion and will be hearing from her on the blog.

Mike, Co-owner
Mike is a Vancouver son of a butcher with a passion for food which he enthusiastically shares with anyone who will let him into a kitchen. He provides ideas, experience and a twisted sense of humour.

Dave, Butcher’s Apprentice
Dave left the construction business after 35 years to finally pursue his passion in the meat industry. He has family in beef farming and has been very fortunate to have eaten the quality of beef that we serve for most of his life. He is very pleased to be a part of this team and to offer this kind of quality to our community, Dave invites you to come and try our product and find out what good meat is supposed to taste like.

Pat, Butcher’s Apprentice
Pat as a butcher’s apprentice helps Blair cut meat, and in his words "is pretty good at it, not as good as Blair though!". He has a real soft spot for animals and is currently following the veterinary technician program with Algonquin college, he spent time in the summer of 2009 volunteering with a sea turtle conservation project in Costa Rica. He hopes to one day live on a beach!

Steve, Butcher’s Apprentice
Another escapee from the high tech environment, with his English up bringing he adds a little of the "old country".

Cheryl, Shop assistant
Cheryl has always cared about animal welfare and has been buying locally raised beef, pork and lamb and raising her own chickens for years. She hopes to be able share this passion with our customers. "What better way to find a source for local, ethically raised meat than to be working for the Manotick Village Butcher."
